An evening with the great Alice Walker

My current research focuses on animal ethics in literature. I extended an explanation of my research to Pulitzer Prize-winning author Alice Walker, expressing a desire to talk with her about animal ethics in her fiction. To my delight, she responded positively, affirming that these are important to her. In fact, she invited me to join her for dinner, and then to accompany her to the symphony, seen in the photograph here. Afterwards, I was invited to stay overnight at her secluded country home, Temple Jook. It was during our drive to the symphony where we had our now-published conversation on animal ethics.
